Nicole Matteson is a writer and editor living in the lower peninsula of Michigan. Her writing and editorial experience include flash fiction, short story, poetry, and prose. After receiving her BA in creative writing and philosophy from Western Michigan University, Nicole went on to pursue her MA in education leadership.
During her studies at WMU, she worked as Editor-in-Chief for WMU’s The Laureate. Her collection of poetry, Bone Totems, won the 2014 Celerity City Chapbook competition. Her work has appeared in various publications, including Artifactory and The Poets’ Touchstone. She served as a judge for several local poetry and writing competitions and was a board member for Friends of Poetry from 2015-2017.
Nicole has worked for many years in the non-profit sector, connecting young people with spoken word poetry and a community of writers around them. She is excited for the opportunity to work with Z Publishing and to help share the work of modern writers with a global audience.
